Safer saves, HD maps, item values and new spellbooks

HD Maps, Follow and Click to Walk

The world map and the minimap draw the world in HD.

• With "HD minimap" on, the minimap's ground is the HD world map, with players, NPCs and items live on it.
• Without the live view, the minimap shows the world map's pictures in place of flat tile colours.
• The world map shows the live scene over its pictures: players, NPCs, items and opened doors.
• Objects show 136 new minimap icons.

Follow and click to walk

• F follows your character on the world map. Following starts when the map opens, stops when you pan, and moves smoothly with each step.
• A quick click on the world map walks you to that tile, past the edge of the loaded scene too. A red cross marks the spot until you arrive.

Safer Saves and Reliable Logins

• A save is never left half done.
• An older save never overwrites a newer one.
• The server saves every player each 60 seconds.
• A backup is taken each hour, and the last 24 are kept.
• Item charges save with the item.

Logging in again after a logout works every time. The "Error connecting to server" and "already logged in" answers on a relogin are gone.

A server stopped from its console saves every player before it closes.

Item Values and the HD Interface

Items in your inventory, equipment and bank show what they are worth. Each slot takes an outline in its value's colour, and the amount text can follow the value too.

• 5,212 items have a Grand Exchange price.
• An item with no trade price takes its high alchemy value, by the setting "High alchemy when untraded".
• The default colours: green from 10K, cyan from 100K, orange from 1M and red from 10M.
• The Item values page in the settings picks the price source, the outline, the amount colour, the four thresholds and the outline opacity, 50% by default.

HD interface

In HD your graphics card draws the interface too. If your card is too old for that, the interface draws as before.

Four Spellbooks

You can cast 190 spells from four spellbooks.

• The standard book holds 73 spells and the Ancient book 26.
• The Lunar book, 45 spells, and the Arceuus book, 46 spells, are new.

::ranbook now picks from all four books.

Bosses

69 bosses now attack you as soon as you come near and never grow used to you.
