Boss mechanics, raids, the Inferno and a faster game
Movement
- You now walk in a straight line to the spot you click, at any angle.
- You stop on the exact spot you clicked, not the middle of the square.
- Walking and running keep one steady speed, and you slow down smoothly as you reach the spot you clicked.
- Arrows and spells leave from where the attacker stands.
- Items you drop land where you stand.
- You log back in on the exact spot where you logged out.
- Players and monsters that come into view show on their exact spot.
Game speed
The game now runs one and a half times as fast.
Camera and Roofs
- The camera no longer moves closer under a roof.
- When you stand under a roof, the floors above you hide. Turning the camera no longer changes which roofs hide.
- A new Roofs choice, Fade local, shows those floors see-through instead of hiding them. Your clicks go through to the floor you stand on.
- Hide local and Hide all now hide the ceilings under the floors they hide.
- Players on a hidden floor now show to you, each on a small see-through patch of their floor. A player who logs in up there shows at once.
- When players or monsters fight on a hidden floor, both fighters show on their patch.
- Loot from a fight on another floor shows on its patch for as long as it lies there.
- The patch appears straight away, without a turn of the camera.
- On the Camera page, Attacker floor ring sets the patch size from 0 to 5 squares. Faded floor strength sets how strongly the patch and the Fade local floors show.
Floors
- Doors, trees and items now change on every floor you can see, not only your own.
- You can attack with ranged and magic between floors where the space is open, such as from a balcony. Melee still needs you on the same floor.
- Arrows and spells now fly in a natural arc from one floor to the other.
- Hits, health bars, overhead chat and prayer icons now show between floors.
- When you die on one floor in a fight with a player on another, your items drop once, on the floor where you die.
- A fight with another player ends when they step into a safe area.
- The safe area around a bank now covers every floor of the bank.
- An attack on a player in a safe area no longer carries over. Your next attack and your auto retaliate now go to the right target.
World
- 22 areas have a new look, such as Ferox Enclave, Clan Wars, Tempoross Cove, the Abyssal Sire's lair and Mor Ul Rek.
World map
- The grid on the world map now shows each region's name, number and position.
- With the grid on, click a region to copy its name, number and position.
- Two new buttons, OSRS and 377, show or hide the map's newer regions and its original regions. Both start on. Players, NPCs and ground items in hidden regions hide with them.
- The map now stops at the edge of the world. The Full button shows the empty space kept for new areas.
Bosses
- 164 bosses now use special attacks and fight in phases. For example, Vorkath throws acid pools and fireballs before his zombified spawn.
- 279 bosses and boss versions now stand in the world, most of them in their lair.
- PvM Arena versions stand on the Duel Arena floor. Deadman versions stand in the Wilderness, south of the lava dragons.
- Nightmare Zone versions and quest bosses stand in the fields north of Yanille.
- Echo bosses stand next to their normal boss. You need that region's echo orb in your inventory to hurt one. The normal boss drops the orb.
- When you beat the Doom of Mokhaiotl, it leaves a burrow hole. Climb in to fight a stronger Doom on the next level down.
- Yama calls his Judge at two thirds and one third of his health. The Judge always blocks ranged, and blocks the last style you hit it with.
- Yama's Judge fights you on a platform across the lava. Jump the stepping stones to reach it. When the Judge falls, you return to Yama.
- The Moons of Peril curse you as they hit. The Blue Moon's curse can freeze your next attack. The Eclipse Moon's curse makes your hits glance off.
- Phosani's Nightmare now uses her special attacks in fixed sets of three.
- A boat rows you out to Zulrah, and a spade takes you through a mole hill to the Giant Mole.
- Torfinn in Rellekka sails you to Ungael and back. Climb over the ice chunks, then poke Vorkath to wake him.
- The Kraken and its tentacles rise from their whirlpools when you hit them. A Fishing explosive wakes them all at once.
- Each Barrows brother now rises from his sarcophagus when you search it.
- A jump across stepping stones is now one smooth leap toward the stone.
- Climb through the broken bars to fight Scurrius alone. You get your own copy of his lair until you leave. A second Scurrius no longer stands on the same spot.
- You can now fight the Mimic. It stood one floor below its arena, out of your reach.
- 252 monsters now have their full health and stats. They had 1 health before. For example, Tekton now has 300 health.
- The Blackstone fragment now takes you into the Whisperer's shadow world and back.
- Bosses now always use the attack that starts a new phase. For example, JalTok-Jad now calls his healers when he drops below half health.
Raids
- You can now play Chambers of Xeric, Theatre of Blood and Tombs of Amascut.
- Each raid gets its own copy of the raid area. Monsters grow stronger for a larger party.
- Raid chests give their special rewards only when you earn them. For example, a Tombs of Amascut remnant needs raid level 450 and no deaths in your party.
- You now enter Chambers of Xeric from the front of the steps.
Minigames
- You can now fight through the Inferno. Give TzHaar-Ket-Keh your Fire cape once to unlock its entrance.
- TzKal-Zuk now breaks free from the northern wall. The Ancestral Glyph floats across the lava in front of him, and it blocks his attacks while you stand behind it.
- In the fight with Zuk, a mager and a ranger now arrive together on the arena floor and attack the glyph until you attack them.
- Zuk's healers now float on the lava in front of him. They stop healing him once you attack them.
Other changes
- When your inventory is full, a reward now goes to your bank. Before, some rewards were lost.
- The Commands tab now lists its commands in order, and each one runs the command it shows.
