The Gods Write to Each Other

No mortal letters this time. Saradomin and Zamorak fought over the mailbag, it tore, and their own letters to each other fell out. Reldo of the Library gathered them from the floor and prints them here, in order.

Reldo writes: These letters were found on the floor of the Library on the morning after a loud night. The scorch marks on them are original. I print them because they concern every soul in the world, and because nobody has asked me not to.

Brother. The world is crowded and quarrelsome, and it needs order. I propose to unite the kingdoms under one law, open new roads and build a modern world. You may keep the Wilderness, as long as you keep it tidy.

Saradomin, to Zamorak

Baldy. Your modern world is a world of queues. I want the old world back, the way it was before you started sweeping it: my demons in it, my dragons in it, and no roads at all. You may keep Entrana. Nobody goes there anyway.

Zamorak, to Saradomin

There cannot be two worlds in one place, brother. Either the people have my order or your chaos. I suggest we let the people choose. They will choose me.

Saradomin, to Zamorak

The people? The people riot over iron rocks. Give them a choice and they will riot over that too. I suggest we each take the world we want and fight over the border. My followers are ready. Are yours?

Zamorak, to Saradomin

Lord Guthix. The followers of Saradomin and the followers of Zamorak are arming in every town. The White Knights drill in Falador, and the Black Knights drill in their fortress. The druids of the circle have read the Edicts again. If the faithful of all three go to war, you will wake and remake the world, without mercy for beast or man. We beg you: is it time?

Kaqemeex, of the druids' circle in Taverley, to Guthix

Brothers. Do not.

Guthix, to Saradomin and Zamorak

Reldo writes: That was the last letter in the pile. The next morning, both of Guthix's brothers wrote back to him at length. I have not printed those replies. They would not fit in the Library.

Since then, the druids say Guthix stirs in his sleep. The sheep have stopped grazing, and stand facing Taverley.
