Guthix Hears the Dragon

The god of balance answers the north and the deep. An undead dragon sleeps on the ice of Ungael, a Mahjarrat writes to boast of it, something old stirs under Kourend, and an island of bones rises from the sea.

Greetings, mortals. The new lands have settled further, and with them came things that should have stayed in their own world. They are in thine now. Mind them.

Lord Guthix, I sail the travellers from Rellekka to the frozen island of Ungael. On the ice lies a dragon of bones and rot, asleep. The travellers poke it awake, and it wakes very angry. Then they come back to my boat smelling of death and ask for the trip again. Is this dragon truly dead?

Torfinn, of Rellekka

It died once. It did not stay so. Vorkath was raised by a Mahjarrat of Zamorak, and it rises again each time the travellers wake it.

Death is a state the balance requires, and this dragon refuses it. I like it not. Yet a dragon asleep on the ice harms no one. Only those who poke it suffer, and they have chosen to.

Guthix. I am the one who raised Vorkath. I raised him from the bones of a great beast, to serve my master and to frighten your little world. I am the one who swore to break Cuepee in the Land of Dreams. Tell me you are afraid.

Zemouregal, of the Mahjarrat

I am not afraid, Zemouregal. I am tired. Thou hast made a dragon that will not die, and the travellers have made it a ferry trip.

As for Cuepee, the Land of Dreams is wide, and thou art not the first to swear something there. Oaths sworn in dreams have a way of waking up wrong. Have a care.

God of balance, my miners dug too deep beneath Mount Quidamortem and broke into the Chambers of Xeric. Something enormous lives in the bottom chamber. It has a head the size of a cottage, and two hands that crawl out of the walls. The travellers call it the Great Olm. Is it Xeric's?

Lady Vulcana Lovakengj, of the house of Lovakengj, Great Kourend

The Olm served Xeric, once. Xeric sought to live forever, and built his chambers to keep himself and his secrets. The Olm was older than his ambitions, and it outlasted them.

Close the tunnel if thou wilt. The travellers will open another. They always do.

Great Guthix, an island of bones and ancient trees has risen off the coast, and the museum has sent its scholars to dig. They find fossils of creatures nobody has ever seen. Were these beasts of our world, or of the other one?

Reldo, of the Library of Varrock

Both, Reldo. Before the Folding there were many worlds, and their bones lie in every layer of rock. Fossil Island merely shows its layers where thou canst see them.

Write it in thy books. Then hide the books from Zamorak.
