Saradomin Mourns No More

The elves have their city back, and the god of wisdom takes the gratitude. He also receives an invitation to the theatre from a vampyre queen, and explains why a town now stands in the middle of the Wilderness.

Greetings, my faithful followers. For ages I mourned the lost elves, and I said so, many times. I am pleased to report that the mourning is over. I am less pleased to report who gets the credit.

Holy Saradomin, I have lived my whole life in the forest of Isafdar, hiding from men and from the dark lord's soldiers. Last week the scouts came back weeping. They say Prifddinas stands again, whole, with the Tower of Voices singing at its heart. Is it true? I am afraid to go and look.

Islwyn, of the forest of Isafdar

It is true. Go and look, Islwyn. Your city is whole again.

I mourned your people so often that Guthix grew tired of hearing it, and rebuilt Prifddinas himself, crystal by crystal. He takes the credit. I take the gratitude. It is a fair arrangement, and the only kind my brother and I have ever managed.

Darling Saradomin. You must come to the theatre. In Ver Sinhaza I stage the finest show in any world: brave little heroes in a row, and each act ends in blood. The vampyre lords adore it. Your followers buy the tickets themselves. I keep a seat for you in the front row. It is splash-proof, mostly.

Verzik Vitur, of the Theatre of Blood, Ver Sinhaza

I decline, Verzik. I have seen the reviews.

To my followers I say: the Theatre of Blood is no theatre. Those who go in fours and fives sometimes come out again. Those who go alone become part of the scenery. Bring friends, and bring a great deal of food.

Saradomin, a walled town has appeared in the middle of my master's Wilderness, with a bank, a pool that heals and guards at the gates. The travellers rest there, bank their loot and leave again. My master is furious. Is your bankers' peace inside its walls?

The Mage of Zamorak, at the edge of the Wilderness

Ferox Enclave was your master's own idea, in a way. He complained that too few people visited his Wilderness. Guthix listened, for once, and dropped a town in the middle of it. Now they come, heal in the pool, bank their loot and leave.

Your master asked for visitors. Guthix gave him tourists. My peace holds around every banker there, as everywhere. Tell Zamorak I said so. Tell him slowly.

Sir Amik Varze, of the White Knights' castle, asks: "Years ago Guthix told me the elves' future was dark and full of difficulties. Was he wrong?"
He was right, for a long time. Then he changed it. That is the privilege of the god who wrote the future.

Yours in wisdom,

Saradomin
