Letters #7 - Unisex?
Saradomin Responds.

Five Ages after creating the world of Q-pea, the great god Saradomin now regularly communicates with the inhabitants of this fast evolving planet. An agreement with his brothers prohibits him from directly intervening into Q-pea's affairs, but in his great omniscience he still listens to the prayers of those who seek his knowledge.
Oh Ancient and Wise one,
First, my thanks for the new way the rocks behave. My customers no longer stand bored at one rock all day, swinging their picks until their arms ache. The ore comes, and it comes to them. I sold pickaxes for forty years and never saw an outlander find a gem. This month alone, three came back to my shop to show me one. Sapphires sparkle, but diamonds shine.
Making them rest is wise, too. Unearthing gems is tiring work, as any dwarf will tell you. I pray it stays this way forever.

Yours admiringly, Nurmof, pickaxe seller of the Dwarven Mine
Verily, it pleases me that you are so pleased. Although I can't promise that there will be no more developments. As my brother Guthix says, nothing lasts forever. Except maybe diamonds.

Dear Saradomin,
If there are no beds in the Wilderness, why keep the coal rocks there? The air goes thick and slow around them, like walking through porridge. I once ran past them with a hunter of outlanders on my heels, and my legs slowed as his did not. He caught me. I lost my rune armour, though I saved my two-handed sword. Can you not ask Zamorak to take the rocks away?
Boot, a dwarf of the Dwarven Mine
Rest assured, there are now beds in the wilderness. They can be found in the dark warriors' castle, in the sapphire house and in the ruined town with the furnace in it. Even PKers need to unwind sometimes.
Dear Saradomin,
I would like to know why you took the mithril ore rocks out of the Mining Guild and the Dwarven Mine. Now the only mithril left is in the Wilderness, where the outlanders insist on killing me. My shop shelves are bare of it.
Your loyal follower,
Drogo, of Drogo's Mining Emporium, the Dwarven Mine
A good question. The mithril rocks respawn was increased, which meant that they needed to be a long way from a bed to stop them becoming too powerful.
However, under the new hard rock / soft rock system you can expect to see a couple of soft mithril rocks making a return to the miners guild soon.
To the almighty god Saradomin,
On behalf of the women of Q-pea, I humbly ask that the clothing and armour made only for men, chainmail, robes and aprons among them, be made to fit us too.
In robes cut for us, we would not be taken for men at prayer. We would not hide from chainmail, or shy from an apron in the palace kitchen. Grant this, merciful Saradomin, and the women of Q-pea will remember it.
Your loyal servant, Ellamaria, of the Varrock palace gardens
Yes it's true that those unisex outfits do very little for the female form. But a new line in fashion is being crafted even as we speak, and after the update these items will be available to all! Just don't feel obliged to do all the cooking.

To the great Saradomin
In response to the explanation of null in the recent newsletter.....
I have studied null from my tower. I believe he is a traveller already in sight, whom the world has not yet finished drawing in: his name and his face not yet arrived, a moment behind the rest of him. Call me a heretic. It would explain a great deal.
Sedridor, head wizard of the Wizards' Tower
How wrong you were! But don't worry, lots of people are ignorant without being heretics. Although strangely enough the mage Andrew doesn't seem to believe me either. In fact he agrees with you, and says that a traveller is called null until the world sends along his name and his face. He tells me it changes nothing. I tell him it changes my sleep.
Until next time,
Strength through wisdom,
Saradomin
